Apple Symbol > System Preferences… > Language & Text > Tab Input Source

Hi Nimol! Thanks for sharing this tips with us. I have tried as you suggested, but I still could not type Khmer Unicode with my Macbook Pro. OS X version 10.6.2. I have tried both the Kh.battambang and the Xenotype Khmer font. It displays Khmer Unicode website and I can type it on TextEdit and Stickies but not with the MS. Word Mac 2008. Any advice?
Hi Mr. Chanroeurn! Please go to Format Menu > Fonts > Tick on Enable all ligatures in document. Xenotype does not work in Ms. Office for Mac.

Make sure you delete all Khmer Unicode fonts which are designed for Windows only.

I followed all the ways that you pointed out and forum discussion. I found that I cannot read and type Khmer Unicode in Mac Pro 10.6. The issues are
1. Cannot put the vowels correctly, it shows only the + sign and consonant. For example: ក្នុង (knug)
2. Can not arrange properly like what I did not Microsoft.
3. No shortcut key to change from English to Khmer and From Khmer to English

is there any tips to change between khmer keyboard to english without point to mouse to the keyboard icon? i know in window i use to press ALT+SHIFT then it will switch from khmer to english and english to khmer again.

I’ve juste installed the khmer keyboard layout for mac. I’m used to nida windows keyboard layout. I have the difficulties that to type invisible space, I have to press shift and space bar. In windows, I only have to press spacebar. I always use spacebar all the time in windows to separate word, so that it can be spell checked or made a new line. It’s very annoyance to have to press shift and spacebar all the time in mac.
The question is how can I change this keyboard layout so that I can press only spacebar to make invisible space like in windows?
Is there a key to make srak Oum អុំ and not with 2 srak together?

្I don’t think it’s a big thing. Make yourself used to it. It seems you are new to Khmer Unicode. You will find it easier and useful after some time.

I’m not new to unicode. I think it’s better to use space to make invisible space because in khmer language we don’t have a lot of visible space, and to seperate each word, we use a lot of invisible spaces.
Is there a way to switch that thing?

Hi Nimol! Is there any other font beside KH-Battambang to use in for Microsoft Word for mac? Just to clarify if you don’t get my question, for example: Limon S1 and S2 or R1 are all khmer fonts but they have different style

I want to know who creates khmer unicode fonts? Who make this font available for Mac iOS window mobile etc.
Why they always create for the expensive devices.I think jus few people have those device compare to others.
I see many people use sony ericsson nokia s40 s60 v3&5 android phone etc. and many others but they don’t have khmer font for their devices. I hope creators will think about this and you can also inform this the creators.

I’m a novice Khmer speaker/writer and am trying to set up my Mac so I can type in Khmer. Everything works fine except many of the elements in the Khmer script can’t be typed. For example, most of the sub-consonants, the consonants that appear under other letters, can’t be typed. I’ve tried every possible key combination on my keyboard. I even sat a bunch of native Khmer speakers down in front of my Mac in Cambodia and had them try everything they could think of and nobody could find a way to type many of the essential elements in the Khmer script. So I only have access to part of the script, and it’s not enough to write in Khmer. This happens with any of the Khmer fonts including KH-Battambang. Any ideas?

Does anyone know a keyboard shortcut for switching between Khmer Unicode and English keyboard on a Mac machine? Like the one in Windows a combination shortcuts is Alt+Shift.
I don’t know how to access the lower case from the keyboard layout. What key combination inputs the lower case Khmer letters.
